Once the ferry brings you at the island's harbor, Adamantas, you can enjoy a tidy Greek coffee made on the coals accompanied by cookies and other goodies of the island. The first image may not excite you, but be patient. You still have not seen anything. The best are coming... However, Adamantas is the liveliest place on the island.
Here are the most of the hotels and the rooms, the most taverns and bars. It is, therefore, a good starting point to begin your acquaintance with this place.
From here, every morning, sail yachts and boats that go around the island and they extend their route to Kimolos. A trip you should not miss. You can leave this for the second day.
The first day, surrender yourself to the turquoise waters of a beach and indulge with zeal in swimming, to shape your body in the best way.
At your disposal you have to choose among so many beautiful beaches: Firiplaka, Tsigrado, Provatas, Agia Paraskevi, Paliochori, Plathenia, Chivadolimni, Gerontas... The beaches of Milos are considered among the best in the Aegean and have fine sand or small colored pebbles and crystal, transparent waters.
You will choose what suits you more each time. Spend the first day there to enjoy your swimming, to walk on the beach (a good exercise for the calves is to walk into the water that covers the foot to the knee. The road network in Milos is very good with the main roads paved while the unpaved roads are passable.
In Milos you can use the buses to go to the villages and beaches. Main destinations are Adamas, Triovasalo, Plaka, Tripiti, Pachaina, Filakopi, Pollonia, Zefiria, Paliochori, Chivadolimni, Provatas.
The main port of Milos is Adamas. Pollonia also has a port but is used mainly for a coastal link with Kimolos.
Daily trips by lying dolphin or catamaran from Piraeus. There are also daily excursions by boat or small ships are organized so as to be able to do the round of the Milos and go to the beaches. Also you can visit Kimolos from Pollonia.
There are daily flights from Athens. You can go to the aiport of Milos (in Adamas) only by taxi or by car.
