Indicative distances and routes from Volos: For your convenience, you can use the route map on the field “Routes” with information about the mileage, the time you need and the route you will follow, selecting the points of interest. By bus (KTEL): There are regular Local Bus routes from the Port (Patitiri) to the Village (Palia (Old) Alonissos) as well as to Steni Vala. For your convenience there are also taxis are on the island. By ferryboat: There is a ferry connection from the Port of Agios Konstantinos and Volos (5 h and 30 min) with stopovers at Skiathos and Skopelos. The connection is daily all year round with more frequent ferry routes during the summer season. Alonissos is also connected with Skyros and Euboea all year round, while in the summer it is linked to Thessaloniki. During summer season Alonissos is also linked to Euboea, Central Macedonia and Halkidiki. By boat or small ships: Boats and caique boats organize routes and tours to all the beautiful beaches and seaside villages of the island, starting from the port of Patitiri. During the summer season, there are many day trips to some of the northern and western coasts of the island and the Marine Park. You will have the opportunity to visit Peristera Island with Cape Pirate and the many ancient shipwrecks, the Skatzoura which hosts a white marble and abandoned monastery, Kyra Panagia and the Monastery of Panagia, Psathoura with the magnificent beach on the south side and the cave of the Cyclops in Gioura. By your own boat: Patitiri Port is the principal destination for private boats in Alonissos, which provides facilities and supplies of fuel, water, ice and food. For your convenience you will find the Customs and Post Office and engineers for repairs. The bays of Votsi and Steni Vala are safe anchorages for small and medium-sized vessels. In Steni Vala you will find ice, drinking water and food. Several uninhabited bays are suitable for safe anchorage where you can stay overnight, such as Vasiliko and Peristera bays. In the deserted islands of the Marine Park the safest anchorages are the two main bays of the island of Kyra Panagia, Planitis cove on the north side of the island (one of the safest natural harbors in the Aegean) and the bay of Agios Petros in the southwest.
