In the sunset… a stroll in Plaka
High, at the foot of Kastro, is the capital of the island, the gleaming white Plaka, with its cobbled whitewashed streets, the flowered courtyards and the quaint taverns and cafes between the narrow streets.
Opportunity for walks, since the cars have no place in the village. From the precincts of the Church of the Nativity of Virgin Mary or Korfiatissa, one can see the most beautiful sunset overlooking the northwest coasts.
Among the streets, you'll find the Archaeological Museum, where is the copy of the famous statue of Aphrodite of Milos, since the original is in Louvre Museum, in Paris. On foot, you will reach and the Folk Museum, housed in a 19th century building.
It is time for a little rest and Milian appetizers, at one of the taverns of the village.
Going towards the harbor make a stop at the church of Thalassitra with the beautiful paintings and the fantastic views.
A nice walk, in the morning, is also that to Klima. You will be impressed by the picturesque harbor with “Syrmata”, homes - caves carved into the ground, which were used to protect boats from the waves. Later, Syrmata became holiday houses by the fishermen.
You can also visit the Catacombs at Trypiti.

The road network in Milos is very good with the main roads paved while the unpaved roads are passable.
In Milos you can use the buses to go to the villages and beaches. Main destinations are Adamas, Triovasalo, Plaka, Tripiti, Pachaina, Filakopi, Pollonia, Zefiria, Paliochori, Chivadolimni, Provatas.
The main port of Milos is Adamas. Pollonia also has a port but is used mainly for a coastal link with Kimolos.
Daily trips by lying dolphin or catamaran from Piraeus. There are also daily excursions by boat or small ships are organized so as to be able to do the round of the Milos and go to the beaches. Also you can visit Kimolos from Pollonia.
There are daily flights from Athens. You can go to the aiport of Milos (in Adamas) only by taxi or by car.
