Sivota is a coastal settlement in the southern part of Thesprotia's prefecture. It is one of the main resorts of Epirus and for this reason, every summer brings together a large number of Greek and foreign tourists.

The village is built in a small bay where there are plenty of islands. Thus, a beautiful landscape is created, combining the green of nature and the turquoise of the sea. The main islands are Saint Nicholas and Mavro Oros.

Historically, Sivota is known for the naval battle among the Corinthians and the Thesprotians against the Corfiots in 433 BC during the Peloponnesian War. During the Ottoman rule, the name of the village was Mourtos that persisted until the late '50s. The importance of the past, succeed to remain up to date.

Sivota is a starting point for an excursion to the monuments of Epirus, an experience which will remain indelible in memory of all of those that will live it.

More specifically, you can rent an inflatable boat and plan a two-day trip on the emerald beaches of Epirus.

Start from Sivota and continue your getaway at the complex of islands, trying to do diving or just swim with a sea-mask in order to admire the beautiful sea bottom.

In the afternoon, you can sail to Paxos, a pleasant tour with the likelihood of the unexpected company of dolphins of the Ionian Sea.

As regards to accommodation, there are two options. The first is to camp in one of the quiet beaches of Paxi, with the necessary equipment of course, while the second option is to stay at one of the accommodations on the island.

Access
The underwater road crossing through the Aktion - Preveza channel ensures the fastest connection of Aetoloakarnania and southern Greece with the coastal zone of the prefectures of Preveza - Thesprotia and the Port of Igoumenitsa.

There are regular bus routes from the Thesprotia Bus Station to Athens, Thessaloniki, towns and regions of the Prefecture of Preveza, cities of Epirus, Thessalia and Patra.

The port of Igoumenitsa is used predominantly for passengers for interior and exterior ferry routes.

There is air connection from Thesprotia to the neighboring airports of Ioannina (67 km), Aktio (92 km) and Corfu.
