The dance of Lampri takes place in Aegina the second day of Easter. The dance includes two parts: the small and the big dance. The small one takes place in Panagia Foritissa square ( Agios Georgios Catholic). Its main purpose is the entertainment, revealing of love of young people and the commitment for marriage...

The big dance used to take place in the big square of Stavrou church and in order to make all the residents to participate the small one was stopping . The dancers took their place based on their age and gender. The dance was shaping a big circle to have the church exactly in the center. Elderly people were dancing first, then the non-married men and next the married men and again the elderly ones shaping a bow of men. The women were shaping another bow: elderly women, non married, married and elderlyones once again.

Necessary for Lampri dance was the singer that was giving the cue to start dancing and the priest was appearing in the front door of the church and saying "Christos Anesti". The dance was not required instruments like violin, laouto, but in case of existence and after the agreement of the dancers were entering together with the singer in the center of the square. Contineuously the singer was beginning to sing.
 In the end the singer was giving the ending of the dance and many of them used to sing:
"At the oldchora the dance was sweet like honey, because girls were dancing like angels"
