You should definetely visit the monastery of Nea Moni ( mosaic Byzantine, 11th c. ) and the abandoned village Anavatos ( the "Mystras of Chios") where in 1822 the girls of the island fled in vain in order to escape the fury of Turks.

If weather permits it, we will make a splash in Mavra Volia, we will cross the fragrant Campos full of citrus trees and certainly will stroll around the famous Mastichochoria, the only region in the world where mastic is produced from the resin of the mastic tree ( a phenomenon which is probably formed from the composition of soil and climate conditions.
In the city of Chios will visit Korais library, the Archaelogical museum, the Venetian castle and before we left the hospitable island we will buy mastic, ouzo "Apalarina" and sweets.
