Discovering the beauty of the island...
In the morning we will take a drive and explore the island. A route in the northern part will bring us to Apano Meria, with its vegetable planted terraces and the village of San Michalis. The view from up here is magnificent! A second route from the port will take us to places that are full of life during the summer. Starting from Azolimno, we continue to the sandy beach of Vari.

Megas Gialos and Finikas draw the travelers, while Dellagrazia (Posodonia) remains stately with its beautiful mansions. Nearby is Agathopes beach. We descend to Galissas with its sheltered harbor and beautiful beach. From the chapel of St. Pakous we will enjoy the sunset.

We continue to the picturesque Kini with its small taverns on the beach. From here we will also enjoy an idyllic sunset. Dolphin beach is located Near Kini. For a more peaceful atmosphere, the beaches of Lia and Grammata, by boat from Kini or by hiking from Apano Meria. Ascending for the return, we see the Monastery of Agia Paraskevi, which enjoys lovely views towards Kini. Back to Ermoupoli and in the taverns of the narrow streets we will enjoy traditional dishes along with our company. The next morning we will take a stroll through the Market, which is full of fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meats and traditional sweets, in the alley that starts from the harbor and reaches Miaouli Square.

It is, however, also worth visiting (by car a few minutes from the port) Tarsanas, next to the island’s large shipyard, Neorion, where the shipbuilders still build and restore wooden boats using the traditional techniques.
We will not forget to also visit Ermoupoli’s Industrial Museum at the former Katsimantis dyeworks, which hosts everything from Chiller’ plans and old maps to machines and tools from the island’s old factories, and get a glimpse of the development of industry and shipping in Syros during the 19th century.
Opposite lies the Aneroussis Lead shot factory that is interesting, because we can see how shots were once made using traditional methods.

Access
The access to Syros is done via Rafina and Piraeus Ports. From Piraeus to Syros, ships depart daily and the journey time is 3.5 to 4 hours by ferry.
From the port of Rafina, there is regular schedule and the trip takes about 3.5 hours.
The island is connected by boat with the rest of the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, Heraklion of Crete and Thessaloniki.

Fast ships connect Syros with the rest of the Cyclades and the ports of Piraeus and Rafina, significantly reducing the duration of the trip.

The urban buses are quite convenient as they connect the center of the island with the most of the villages. In summer, there are more route schedules.

By plane:
Flights are made several times a week from El. Venizelos Airport and the flight time is only 25 minutes. Syros Airport is 4.5 km away from Ermoupoli.
