Visit Syros' seaside villages and take a dip at its charming beaches! Setting off from Hermoupolis, one passes through Manna to get to the nearby beach of Azolimnos. It is one of the best options on the island for organized, restful, high quality holidays.

Continue on to leeward Vari with its beautiful, safe beach in a well-protected bay or visit the smaller beaches of Fabrica, Santorinioi or Achladi.
Megas Gialos is a popular beach with tamarisk trees offering a wealth of shade. Just a little further on is Ambela wich has a charm all of its own.
Posidonia (or Della Grazia) was the most popular resort of the island's residents in the mid-19th century. The mansions and neoclassical residences there are stunning. Visitors are bound to love the blend of cosmopolitanism and a summer feeling. Angathopes beach is ideal for raising the spirit with its clean, golden sands which are great for beach volleyball or for unwinding under the beach umbrellas. A little further on is Komito, popular with the young or those who feel young at the heart.

The village of Finikas with the hotels, cafes, taverns and safe jetty where boats can moor also has a large beach worth visiting. Kokkina beach a little further on is pebbled and the rocks are red, hence the name in Greek.

Galissas has a particularly good set-up for tourists. Here the professional level of services transforms plain hospitality into friendship. The beach with its golden sand stretches right around the inner part of the bay whose blue waters vary in hue.

Don't forget to visit Kini. It's located in a popular seaside village with many cafes and fish taverns, while the monastery of Agia Varvara, home to many traditional looms, stands proud atop the village.
The unique sunset paints a colourful picture, enchanting the senses and entrancing the eye. It's the ideal setting for daydreaming Cycladic style. Further on lies Delfini wich blends sand and pebbles.. get to know it.. it's sure to remain indelibly marked in your memory. If you prefer a more isolated beach then opt for Varvaroussa, Aeto, Lia or Grammata beaches, which can all be reached by caique from Kini.

Access
The access to Syros is done via Rafina and Piraeus Ports. From Piraeus to Syros, ships depart daily and the journey time is 3.5 to 4 hours by ferry.
From the port of Rafina, there is regular schedule and the trip takes about 3.5 hours.
The island is connected by boat with the rest of the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, Heraklion of Crete and Thessaloniki.

Fast ships connect Syros with the rest of the Cyclades and the ports of Piraeus and Rafina, significantly reducing the duration of the trip.

The urban buses are quite convenient as they connect the center of the island with the most of the villages. In summer, there are more route schedules.

By plane:
Flights are made several times a week from El. Venizelos Airport and the flight time is only 25 minutes. Syros Airport is 4.5 km away from Ermoupoli.
