Andros. Naval tradition and nobility...
The nature has generously endowed Andros with blue beaches and lush hinterland... Its people has decorated it with a stately Chora, but also with distinct villages with stone fountains and running waters and many precious lemon trees, which, at this period of time, have flourished and their aroma lingers along the place. Easter is traditionally celebrated here, with "Maskoula" and "Lampriati”...
Famed for its cultural tradition and the artistic sensibilities, Andros is one of our most favorite destinations in spring and in the summer, of course. The picturesque villages, perched on wooded hillsides with lots of water, exude the seamanship of the island. The stately town holds on a high level the culture of this place.
There is easy access to the island, because of its short distance from the Attica land. For the hiking lovers there are many hiking trails that they can discover and enjoy the magic of nature. In their path, they will encounter stone bridges and old mills.
In Andros, one can find popular resorts, such as Batsi, but also peaceful villages full of flowers and lemon trees, with traditional architecture, such as Stenies with the well-preserved mansions of wealthy mariners, Menites with the running waters and the old taps, and Apikia, where are the known sources of Sariza water.
On the slopes, ornamented by all sorts of wild flowers and wild orchids, we will see the impressive "Emasies”, the ornate walls that hold the soil and characterize Andros.
