Agia Effimia is one of the most beautiful seaside villages in Kefalonia. It is 9 km far from Sami, 34 km from the capital of the island Argostoli  and 33 km from Lixouri.
Agia Effimia is a traditional seaport village of Pylarou that welcomes numerous sailing boats. It is an attraction pole for many visitors who are attracted to beautiful beaches, excellent products of stock-farming production and an idyllic nocturnal atmosphere...

Pylaros has a great importance on the island as from the ancient times was the gate to the north side of Kefalonia. Its name came from the word "pyloros" that means "guard of the gate".
Agia Effimia is on the east side of the island and on the opposite site- west side- you will meet the world-famous beach of Myrtos.  

It is an extremely beautiful village of Kefalonia that has been developed to a famous destination.
The road to Agia Effimia is heavenly. Leafy sceneries and traditional ports reveal the gifts of nature to the countryside of Kefalonia.
The small port of Agia Effimia, with 3-10 meters depth, can service until 70 boats and every summer is filled with sailing boats. The area is considered as a cosmopolitan resort. The touristic sites are getting better and better every year and fulfill all needs.
