Beaches in Chios island
One of the most famous and popular beaches on the island, organized and perfect for children. It has shallow, clear waters and attracts a large number of tourists every year. It has umbrellas and sunloungers for you to endlessly enjoy the sea breeze.
The region is considered the island’s largest tourist resort as it is composed of large hotel complexes and general tourist facilities, water sports, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets etc.
Megas Limnionas Beach
It is located within walking distance from Karfas, allowing the visitor to experience both beaches on the same day. It is 9 km south of Chios town and is strewn with pebbles and thick sand. In the area you will find cafes and restaurants with fresh fish.
You will find it on the north side of the city, in the area of Vrontados. Its name, according to tradition, is associated with Homer who is said to have taught in this area. The beach is covered with pebbles, has crystal clear waters and in the area you will find scattered shops and restaurants with traditional cuisine.
The access to the area is easy either by bus from the city center or by car.
Mavra Volia (Emporios)
A beautiful beach on the south side of the island with shiny black volcanic stones that make a fantastic contrast to the clear deep blue color of the sea. The beach is ideal for swimming or for quiet moments as it is a bit isolated.
In the area, you will find rooms, a few cafes and fish taverns with fresh fish and seafood.
It is located on the south side of the island and is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Chios. On the beach of Komi, you can enjoy hours of play since it is covered with fine sand. It is organized with umbrellas, sun beds and showers and its water is clear and clean.

Agia Markella Beach
Having as a background the picturesque monastery of St. Markella, the beach is one of the best choices for a peaceful and relaxing day. Covered with sand and a few scattered pebbles, it wins your heart from the very first moment.
The water is deep with an enviable crystal blue color.
On 22 July, the monastery of St Markella celebrates and organizes the largest festival on the island.
In the area there is a tavern with traditional cuisine and fresh seafood.
Agiasmata is 56 km from the city of Chios, on the northern part of the island.
It is known for its thermal baths and its water is crystal clear.
The beach has coarse sand. The location of the beach is affected by the north-facing winds and as a result sometimes large waves form so caution is needed when swimming.
A beautiful beach with sand and deep blue water, it is the northern part of Managros beach and is located on the northwestern part of the island.
