The beach of Perissa is located at the southeastern part of the island and is a single beach consisting of two smaller beaches, those of Perivolos and Agios Georgios, without clear markings of their limits.
It is one of the most known and popular beaches of Santorini Island with thin black sand, shaded by the imposing Mesa Vouno mountain that separates it from Kamari. Its main characteristic is the exotic black shore and its great length (5km).

The very good infrastructure with lifeguards, sun beds, umbrellas, restaurants, taverns, cafés, bars, super market, showers, public toilets and a playground, as well as the large variety of entertainment options, make it an attraction for many visitors and young people in particular.
Along the beach, the beach bars that play club music, with guest-DJs, many sea games and events attract more and more visitors.
You will find a number of water sports to choose from, such as jet-skis, parasailing, windsurfing etc.
The multitude and excellence of services and the cleanliness of its waters have awarded it with the blue flag.
Along the beach, just like in Perivolos, except for the beach bars and the taverns, there are also hotels, rooms etc.

Perissa Beach has long been a vacation spot for the local islanders and was developed after the earthquakes of 1956 when its population started growing.

Access to the beach of Perissa is easy from any part of the island with short distances and a good road network (Routes).
