Falasarna beach and Pachia Ammos beach in Chania
One of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Chania, the beach of Falasarna, is located on the Gramvousa Penisula, on the western side of the county, about 60 km from the capital of the prefecture, Chania, and 17 km from Kissamos.
It has been awarded a multitude of times for its beauty but also for the infrastructure and services its visitor can enjoy. The length of the beach is one of its main characteristics and advantages, since you will not feel cramped or crowded during the peak seasons, giving the opportunity to every holidaymaker to enjoy swimming in the crystal clear turquoise waters or sports on the wonderful sandy beach with its white-gold hue.
From the beaches of Falasarna you will be enchanted by the beautiful and unique sunset, one of the most beautiful in Greece, since, because of its location, nothing is interposed in your field of vision between the beach and the horizon.
It consists essentially of five consecutive beaches with the two central ones being the most favorable and busy, out of which the beach of "Pachia Ammos" is the most popular receiving the most people, without this causing any kind of overcrowding.
After Pachia Ammos and north of it (separated by some rocks and a dune), you will find the second largest beach in the area with almost the same features but without the comforts of the main beach, being less crowded and more quiet.
Further north, next to the archaeological site of Falasarna, you will find a small pebble beach with a rocky bottom, ideal for those who prefer isolation and which, when the strong west wind is blowing, is protected due to its position and direction.
South of the main beach there is another sandy beach with sand and a rocky bottom.
Finally, south of the previous beach there is yet another small one next to the small harbor area with pebbles, ideal for those who don’t prefer crowds.
