Drakia village, Pelion
In a short distance from Agria to the mountainous Pelion below Hania is Drakia.
At the entrance of the village lies the church of St. Nicholas and next to it the small beautiful village square with the big plane tree.
The central square of Drakia said to be the oldest in the region of Pelion.
In Drakia, you can visit its old mansions such as Triantafyllos mansion, with frescoes of the 18th-century, carved doors and carved wooden ceilings.
Rural, Folklore and Heritage Museum of Drakia
The old Community building has been converted and after the restoration according to traditional techniques and with the main building materials to be the stone and the wood, it serves as a museum of rural folklore and cultural heritage of Drakia.
The museum is open daily and hosts tourists and visitors both foreign and Greek. Furthermore, it welcomes groups of visitors and students who visit the site and the exhibits.
Trails - Hiking
For friends who love hiking... and the difficulties... there is a path from Drakia to Hania.
The total distance is 9 km of moderate patency. The starting point is in the square of Drakia at an altitude of 560 meters and the end at the intersection of Aviation in Hania at an altitude of 1130 m
For those who will decide to follow this path it must be noted that they will need about 3 to 3.30 hours to arrive at the its end and the climbing is relatively difficult.
However, the whole route will indemnify, with its beauty, all those who will experience the challenge.
